For the second edition of À vos marques, prêts… Chantez !, the project aimed to bring together an intergenerational and civic audience of amateur and professional singers around Georges Bizet's opera Carmen.
The project.
Under the direction of Luciano Bibiloni, the project "À vos marques, prêts… Chantez Carmen !" united: 9 soloists, 80 maîtrisiens, 50 instrumentalists on stage, 200 schoolchildren, 300 amateur singers from music schools and over 700 people in the participating audience.
Workshops were held throughout the year to prepare for the performance and deliver the most authentic version possible of France's most famous opera. Hundreds of performers—amateurs and professionals, young and old, schoolchildren and parents—came together, guided by the young voices of the Maîtrise de l’Opéra National du Rhin and the Orchestre du Rhin, under Luciano Bibiloni’s direction. This choral structure engaged in dialogue with a cast of top soloist voices.

The spectacle
The participatory concert "À vos marques, prêts… Chantez Carmen !" took place on June 9, 2018, at 7:00 PM at the Zénith de Strasbourg. It was broadcast via FM radio and online streaming on Accent 4, reaching audiences across Alsace.
